IRIS HANTVERK

2005 Barolo started a long collaboration with Iris Hantverk. Initially as a catalog coordinator, product developer and designer, but eventually the range of projects grew. Since then Barolo has a constant contact with the company and new products are developed continously. The latter project has been about developing textile products that are complements to the basic brush collection of Iris Handicraft. Barolo/Mårtensson has designed these textile products together.

2006, we re-printed material and let the photographer Carl Bengtsson in his characteristic manner photograph Iris classic brush in the same way as he used to shoot fashion. There were pictures that were much appreciated. These, along with illustrations and new graphic design by Johan Resele became Iris new folder and directory.

Sometimes it's about changing details in the existing assortment. This example shows a bathtub brush with new handle replacing the old and have got  a modern design and a better usability.

BROOM. One of the tasks was to develop a broom that could be packed on a Euro pallet. A broom should preferably be about 140 cm high. To be able to pack it on the pallet we designed the broom split in two parts. The part that holds the bristles was designed longer and the wooden shaft shorter not exceeding 120 cm. The parts are interchangeable.

We made many projects involving other designers. One of them was to  create a number of illustrations we applicated on several products and contexts, like on these disch cloths. Illustrations by the graphic designer Hans Samuelsson.
